What should be in a design project?

The designer does not create pictures. The designer creates an environment for a comfortable life.

Of course, in every project there is an idea, a visual image. And in order to convey it, we are modeling the space in a 3D model and making renders.

Having visualizations, the designer can better understand the client, equally imagine what result we strive for.

Also with renderings it is more convenient to explain to the foreman that we expect from him.

But the pictures are just the tip of the iceberg. A really good repair result depends on the detailed drawings. And now I will show you on the example of our project why it is important.

We noticed that on the construction site, the contractors unfold the design project and each specialist hires his own letter and may miss something important that is on another letter.

That's why we divided the project into sections - a separate section for installers, a separate section for plumbers, a separate section for electricians, etc. We put all the sections in the order in which the work is performed: first the installation of walls, then plumbing and floor heating, then electricity, false ceiling, finishings, and so on. So each specialist takes his own section and works with it.

So let's go in order.

Land plan

1. House location plan

If we are talking about the project of a private house, it is very important to show its location on the land, the location of other elements (pool, utility area, garden, terrace, etc.) and show the general plan of the plot with heights.

2. Irrigation plan

Of course, designers may not know all the details of caring for every plant. But it is enough to show water supply points and indicate the type of plants. And already on the basis of these data landscape designers competently calculate the dosage of water and fertilizer.

3. Electricity plan

It is very important to show a plan of lighting the area and facades of the house. Lighting group switching plan. Also, if necessary, a plan for heating sidewalks and gutters.

House plan

1. Installation plan

There should be a section with installation of walls and partitions (at reconstruction also the plan of dismantling).

2. Floorplan

Of course we show all the sizes of furniture, widths of passages. We specify models of factory furniture and assembly sizes of furniture of individual production. Be sure to show the door opening plan. This is very important so that we can avoid situations where the door prevents each other from opening. We show the opening of the door in floorplan, so that you can immediately see the full picture.

3. Plumbing plan

After installing the walls, plumbers lay pipes. Therefore, in the plumbing section of the project, we show not only all plumbing fixtures, but also their installation diagrams and connection points for water supply and drainage pipes.

4. Heating plan

In a separate section, but next to the plumbing plan, we show the heating plan. It can be both the plan of a heat-insulated floor, and points of connection of radiators.

5. Floor covering plan

And although it is too early for the final coverage, there is one nuance. Different floor coverings have different thicknesses. Laminates and parquet boards from 7 to 12 mm, tiles, porcelain and marble - from 8 to 15 mm. The layers of the substrate under the laminate and the thickness of the glue also differ. Therefore, having exact thicknesses of all floor coverings and their substrates, we in the floor covering plan show height of a cement-concrete coupler and a way of joining of various coverings.

6. Electricity plan

Next, the electricians must lay the route of the wires, distribute the connection points, install the mounting boxes and bring the wires to the shield. To do this, we are preparing an electricity plan. In a separate sheet we show the places of installation of lamps, separately - switches and sockets, separately - groups of lighting. We also form the specifications of the luminaires with the indication of the types of bulb sockets, the intensity of the luminous flux and the color of the light. As well as models of switches, sockets and other devices, their number and separately types and number of frames.

7. Air conditioning plan

In a separate section, we show a plan for air conditioning and ventilation. Here it is important to specify the type of air conditioning system, shape and diameters of pipes, connection points.

8. Ceiling plan

Here we show the height of the ceiling, the type of ceiling, the installation of concealed lighting systems and cornices.

9. Wall covering plan

We also show the types of coatings, the thickness of the layers of starting and finishing plaster, count the amount of materials.

10. Sections of the walls

For greater clarity, we additionally form sections of all the walls, 3D views of each room, as well as show renderings to make it easier for the foreman and all specialists to navigate what the end result we want.

So I briefly told you that in my opinion it should be in the design project. This list has been developed over many years of close cooperation with foremen on construction sites. Therefore, I can confidently say that according to our project, your masters can make repairs without any problems or misunderstandings. We provide the most complete information on selected materials, furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures, their number, approximate market prices and more.
